By Train and Public Transportation
We recommend travelling to the conference by train. The Deutsche Bahn timetable provides detailed information on connections.
The nearest DB railway station is Gießen mainstation, which is on the main DB line Frankfurt-Marburg-Kassel and is served by local, RE and IC trains at least every hour.
Gießen can also be reached by train from Cologne/Ruhrgebiet-Siegen-Wetzlar, Gelnhausen-Lich and Fulda-Alsfeld.
You can reach the Campus Seltersberg from the railway station as follows:
By public transport:
- From Giessen railway station, take bus lines 10 or 378 to "Naturwissenschaften",
- from the city centre with bus lines 3 or 13 to "Ludwig-Uhland-Schule".
On foot from the railway station in 20-25 minutes:
From the railway station, turn right to the stairs. Climb the stairs and cross the pedestrian bridge into Friedrichstraße. Follow it until you reach the Frankfurter Straße junction. Continue straight ahead on Friedrichstraße until you turn right onto Arndtstraße. Cross the Aulwegen and follow the footpath opposite the "Arndtstraße" bus stop. Now follow the signs.
That special extra for you as participant! Book your train journey with the Deutsche Bahn Event Ticket and travel easily and comfortably at a fixed price throughout Germany.
Please note that no ticket for public transport in Gießen is included in the conference fee. Please purchase an appropriate (weekly) ticket from the Stadtwerke Gießen AG if required.
By Car
Giessen is surrounded by a city motorway ring, the so-called Giessener Ring (A485), which is formed by the A480 (to the north), A485 (to the east), B429 (to the west) and B49 (to the south) feeder roads. Take the "Bergwerkswald"/"Uniklinikum" exit in the direction of the city centre. At the first set of traffic lights, drive straight ahead onto Frankfurter Straße. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right into Schubertstraße. At the next set of traffic lights turn left into Aulweg and at the second junction turn right into Leihgesterner Weg, where you will find the entrance to the Campus Naturwissenschaften multi-storey car park.
